OHL continues to build on its strong track record and reputation in the USA with new project awards. The global infrastructure group, via its subsidiary company, Judlau Contracting, Inc., has been awarded two contracts by the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority for a total of $92.6 million (82.63 million euros). 

An $83.35 million contract (74.38 million euros) for Interchange Construction on the Elgin O’Hare Western Access Tollway (I-490) from MP 5.9 to MP 6.25, and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) from MP 73.5 to MP 74.7 was awarded in March. The work under this contract includes earthwork, grading, drainage, construction of north and south bound bridges for I-490 over Higgins Creek & MWRD, construction of retaining walls, and signing, lighting, and ITS infrastructure. The overall I‐490/I‐90 Interchange Project will enhance the travel experience, and increase mobility for the neighboring communities by connecting the new tollway to the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I‐90).

Additionally, a $9.23 million contract (8.23 million euros) for Shoulder Rehabilitation, Retaining Wall and Noise Abatement Wall Construction on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), from MP 22.3 to MP 24.1 was awarded. The work under this contract includes design and construction of a precast concrete noise abatement wall and a soil nail wall. Other work includes pavement removal, drainage improvements, and construction of mainline and ramp pavements and crossovers. The completion of this project will lead to the future widening of I-294 as part of the Central Tri-State Tollway Project.
