OHLA ŽS, A 70-YEAR TRAJECTORY

We are celebrating our 70th anniversary in the Czech Republic and we want to celebrate it with all of you. Join us on this journey through time and discover some of the most emblematic milestones and projects in the country.

1952

Establishment of the state enterprise Railway Construction Brno, specialized in railway construction.

1978

Ivančický Viaduct in Brno, successor of the original reinforced concrete bridge.

1992

Railway Construction Brno becomes a joint-stock company and changes its name to ŽS Brno.

1993

First contracts for the European network of railway corridors.

2003

OHL becomes majority shareholder of ŽS Brno.

2010

University Campus of the Masaryk University in Brno.

2012

Královo Pole tunnels in Brno.

2015

Reconstruction of the facade of the National Theater in Prague, one of the most emblematic buildings in the Czech Republic.

2016

Completion of the modernization project of the Tábor-Sudomerice railway section.

2016

Construction of the Pavlov Archaeological Park, winner of several national and international awards, such as the CEMEX Works Award (2018).

2018

OHL ŽS, a.s. is awarded the modernization of the Sudoměřice-Votice railway line, the largest railway project in the region.

2021

OHLA celebrates 110 years of history and changes its corporate identity. OHL ŽS is now called OHLA ŽS.

2022

70th anniversary since the birth of Railway Construction Brno.
