OHL Servicios will be one of the companies responsible for the new lighting in the Spanish city of León and will be carry out the waste management and maintenance of green areas in Albacete and Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz).
The project in León has a duration of 10 years and a budget of nearly 21 million euro and includes, among other activities, the replacement of more than 20,000 points of light and 210 electrical panels.
It is important to mention the reduction of light pollution thanks to energy savings -more than 75 percent in electricity consumption- that will be provided by the installation of LED technology, replacing traditional lighting. Also the reduction equivalent to around 4,500 t/year of CO2 emissions due to the decrease in the consumption of MWh/year, which will go from almost 17,000 to 4,026 MWh/year.
Waste management and maintenance of green areas
Regarding the waste management and maintenance of green areas in Albacete and Jerez de la Frontera, both contracts amount to around 34 million euro and have a duration of between three and four years. The development of the projects involves environmental criteria aligned with the objective of achieving an improvement in air quality and a reduction in noise pollution in the city.
