OHL USA, Inc. has been selected by Engineering News-Record (ENR) California & Northwest as the region’s 2021 Contractor of the Year.

In naming OHL, the prestigious publication cited the significant increase in revenues in 2020 over the previous year, as well as OHL’s work on several high-profile projects in the region.

In 2020, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, OHL USA won new work, including important Caltrans projects, and continued to make significant progress on existing projects.  Along with multiple highway construction projects, the California team worked on several water assignments. These include the Mission Trails Flow Regulatory Structure situated beneath a park that serves as a popular hiking destination in San Diego, as well as the Valencia Water Reclamation Plant, an advanced water treatment facility located along the Santa Clara River.

In addition, work has continued on the I-405 Improvement Project in Orange County, with several major milestones taking place in fall of 2020, including the opening of both the Bushard Street and McFadden Avenue bridges to traffic, after a challenging demolition and reconstruction effort.  As of today, the overall $1.4 billion project is 60% complete.

OHL commenced its operations in California in 2013 and has built an impressive portfolio of projects across different scopes of work for several public sector clients across the state.

This is the second time an OHL company has been selected by ENR as a regional contractor of the year.  In 2019, OHL USA’s subsidiary, Judlau Contracting, Inc., was named ENR New York’s Contractor of the Year.
