When I joined OHL almost thirty years ago, in the summer of 1990, I never imagined that I would end up going around the world to do my job. It’s not that I wasn’t used to travel and hotels throughout much of Spain, as during the years I was responsible for the Prevention Service in Galicia and Castilla y León, it was commonplace. But I have to admit, air travel wasn’t one of my favorite activities. In fact, I remember a trip by car, in the middle of winter, to avoid the “dangerous” trip by plane. That’s why when my current boss, Francisco Javier Tarín, and our then director, Juan Lorenzo Martín, called me to join the incipient international business, I had a hard time making the decision. Intercontinental trips of several hours of flight… what a horror!
