In a year marked by COVID-19, OHL has managed to sign in the United States, through its subsidiaries OHL USA, OHL Judlau Contracting, OHL Community Asphalt Corporation and OHL Building, more than EUR 1 billion in new works.

Present in this market since 2016, it currently operates in the states of California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Illinois, Texas, Florida, New Jersey and New York.

South Corridor, Miami

A total of 32 km of exclusive road characterizes the project of conversion of the road infrastructure South Dade Transitway to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). The initiative, which includes design and construction, was awarded by the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works and has a budget of €310.2 million ($368.2 million).

Tri-State Highway, Illinois

Judlau Contracting will carry out several improvement actions along the Tri-State highway (I-294), within the framework of a €3.6 billion ($4 billion) plan. Specifically, the company has obtained a new project valued at €128.2 million ($151.6 million) and adds this award to another three granted to the company with a total price tag of €133.2 million ($157 million).

Improvements to US 101 and I-15, Los Angeles and San Bernardino

The installation of a concrete median along 24 kilometers (15 miles) of US 101, one of the most important routes in Los Angeles County and one of the busiest roads in the country; and the replacement of pavement in the lanes destined for heavy traffic, to contribute to the fluidity of traffic on I-15, which crosses San Bernardino County from north to south, are two of the projects undertaken in the US, for a total of €49.3 million ($58 million). Both initiatives have been awarded by the California Department of Transportation.

I-405. The most important contract in the company's history in the United States

OHL USA continues work to improve Interstate 405 (I-405) from State Route 73 to Interstate 605, one of the most congested highways in Orange County.In California it has a budget of €1.2 billion.

Judlau Contracting, Contractor of the Year 2019

Last year, the prestigious publication ENR New York announced the designation of OHL’s subsidiary, Judlau Contracting, as Contractor of the Year 2019, in recognition of its achievements in the development of various projects, such as the Canarsie Tunnel, Throgs Neck Bridge, Riverside Drive Viaduct, Queens Midtown Tunnel and the Enhanced Stations initiative.
