"I'm an agricultural engineer but I hung up farming to switch to concrete, with a result that has exceeded my most optimistic expectations"
Manager and responsible for ELSAN
My name is Agustín Sanz Pozo and I have worked for Elsan since 2003. I am currently a site manager and responsible for contracts with the oil company BP, although I took my first steps in the company doing maintenance work for Shell service stations. Over time I have taken on different responsibilities, among which I would like to highlight those related to the search for new clients, such as Cepsa, Alcampo, Saras and BP. With the last, we have been working since 2012, carrying out all the integral reforms, maintenance, and new civil works of its service stations throughout the country.
The curious thing about my profile is that, being an agricultural engineer, I hung up farming to switch to concrete, with a result that has exceeded my most optimistic expectations because I love the work, allowing me to maintain a direct relationship with the client and to carry out the integral management of the work, from tender to liquidation. I would like to point out, however, that I am not alone in this adventure, as I have a great team of people committed to the company and with a high degree of professionalism. Their willingness and dedication make everything work out well.
The award we received this summer from BP, which recognizes Elsan’s health and safety management capabilities in a sector as unique as hydrocarbons, renews a previous award received in late 2017. Even so, its value is special, because of the complexity of the project and because it is being developed in an extraordinary world context, caused by Covid-19. As my colleague Juan Carlos Gonzalez says, this award “is the beginning of continuous improvement”, and I hope it will be so for many years to come. I want to thank Elsan for putting this project in my hands and I hope the company will continue with the same confidence in me for many years to come.
