Proud of our work

The social contribution and the innovative component of OHLA’s projects have led the company to win new awards in Europe and America. We present you the new awards we have been granted.

HIGH SPEED ACCESS TO GALICIA. ESPIÑO TUNNEL, LEFT TRACK, SPAIN.

Best civil engineering work in the XII edition of the San Telmo awards granted by the College of Civil Engineers of Galicia, and Honorable Mention in the X Aqueduct of Segovia 2022 Awards of the Caminos Foundation for the project’s contribution to improving the quality of life of the inhabitants, its environmental integration and excellence in construction.

The section completed by OHLA includes, as singular elements, the construction of the Espiño tunnel for the left track, 7,909 meters long. The infrastructure is designed to allow trains to travel at speeds of up to 350 km/h.

LUND-ARLÖV, SWEDEN

Sweden Green Building Award, for the sustainability and innovation of this project, thanks to the use of BIM, drone imagery and geographic information systems (GIS).

The actions have increased the capacity of this route, one of the busiest in the country, from 450 to 650 trains and from 60,000 to 80,000 passengers per day.

PANAMA SUBWAY LINE 1 EXTENSION

“Yo Sí Cumplo” Award, granted by the country’s Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL) for compliance with good labor practices between employers and workers.

The extension of Line 1 includes the construction of a 2.2 km elevated branch line and a station at the northern end with a capacity of about 10,000 passengers at peak hour, a bus terminal for 8,000 passengers and a parking lot with 800 parking spaces.

MODERNIZATION OF THE SUDOMĚŘICE-VOTICE LINE, CZECH REPUBLIC

Railway Construction Award 2022, awarded by the state railway administration Správa železnic in the category of railway construction, for the contribution of the work to increasing the speed, fluidity, comfort and safety of transport in the region.

The initiative, which includes the construction of a second track, two new tunnels and a railroad station, among other actions, has increased the speed of trains to 200 km/h, which will reduce travel times for express trains between Prague and Tábor to one hour.

NATIONAL FORENSIC MENTAL HEALTH SERVICE HOSPITAL. IRELAND

Albert Serratosa City and Territory Award from the Fundación Caminos, in the category of “best work outside Spain”, and Award of Merit, granted by Engineering News-Record in the Health category for its contribution to the sustainable development of the territory where it is located.

It is a high-security hospital complex for the treatment of mental illness. Built in the form of a campus on a 16-hectare plot, it is distributed in ten buildings with capacity for 170 patients. It has BREEAM Excellent sustainable certification thanks to measures such as recycling and energy efficiency.

TOTAL FLEET AND MACHINERY FUEL MANAGEMENT SOLUTION, FLORIDA (USA)

CIO 100 Award, which recognizes one of the most outstanding innovation projects of the year, and award for Best Digital Innovation in Internal Process at the OHLA Innovation Awards.

This self-developed methodology, implemented in Florida (USA) as the first location, allows for comprehensive and efficient management of all aspects related to fuel management of machinery and fleet.
